I’m a photographer and writer currently operating out of Cincinnati.
Most days you’ll find me at Cincinnati Public Radio crafting marketing messages with an emphasis on visual and social storytelling. Occasionally, I contribute to the NPR-affiliated 91.7 WVXU News team via photography and on-air commentary.
In 2007, I started QueenCityDiscovery.com. Originally focused solely on urban exploration (the documentation of abandoned or restricted places), the site grew to also feature stories on history, people, current events, travel, and more. After 13 years of growth as a photographer and author, QC/D was merged with RonnySalerno.com to feature all of my personal and professional work in one place.
I self published "The Future is One of Mighty Ducks T-Shirts and Discmen," a five year photographic retrospective, in 2013 and followed that book with the nationally published "Fading Ads of Cincinnati" in 2015. Presently, I’m working on two new publications.
I graduated from Northern Kentucky University as a recipient of the Schiff Family Photography Scholarship. Over the years, my work has been featured in outlets such as ABC News with Diane Sawyer, NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, The Daily Mail, the Cincinnati Enquirer, and many other publications. Much of my commercial work has helped visualize the brand messaging of companies such as Proctor & Gamble, Kroger, and Louisville Slugger directly on retail shelves.
I regularly alternate between digital and 35mm mediums, am always writing something, and continue to publish regularly on this website with both long-form stories and quick dispatches.
