LEGO

As the COVID-19 Pandemic made its way to Ohio and things began locking down, I dug out my collection of LEGO.

I treasured LEGO as a kid and have a collection made up of the sets I received combined with the collection my Dad originally started accumulating in Holland. I found myself building freehand one socially-isolated, pandemic-related evening—at one point getting so caught up in the process that I worked straight through the night. I built this scene featuring a tram, station, streetscape, and rooftop cafe—somewhat inspired by the 12th and Race intersection of Cincinnati. There's even a fading advertisement worked into there.

I haven’t built anything since this, but I’ll probably never put these bricks back in storage again.
