Random Photographs | August - December 2022
Random photographs made in the last half of 2022 that didn’t have a place in a larger story or post.
Delicious homemade pizza thanks to friends outside of Boston.
Egypt turned five (best guess).
Kyle also created the incredible light show for James Brown mural on Cincinnati’s Liberty Street:
In November, while coming back from Tennessee, I visited this very crowded and not worth the detour circle of hell place:
Went Christmas shopping at Trader’s World Flea Market, “the Midwest’s largest and most colorful market,” in Lebanon, Ohio:
It’s a place where you can buy Crocs “fashion clog shoes” and pay your respects at the manger scene:
Or visit a booth called Traitor’s World:
I wanted to find an old-school Nascar Winston Cup Series hat, but all we seemed to come across were statues for top dads and “Don’t Tread on Me” lawn gnomes:
There were also many booths offering vast selections of butterfly knives:
With no vintage Nascar hats around and no need for blades or lawn ornaments, we went to the rival flea market across the highway: Treasure Aisles.
Still no hats, but the place did have Hydro Thunder (the greatest arcade game of all time) and a wide selection of crucifixes.
Outside, this was the only hat I could find:
I did score this DMX t-shirt, however:
Finished off the year by making holiday photographs for friends, family, and dogs:
Back with more stories soon.
Since 2007, the content of this website (and its former life as Queen City Discovery) has been a huge labor of love.
If you’ve enjoyed stories like The Ghost Ship, abandoned amusement parks, the Cincinnati Subway, Fading Ads, or others over the years—might you consider showing some support for future projects?
