[Fading Advertisements] Forgotten Frisch's
Renovations rounding out the redevelopment of a downtown block bring some old signs back to life, each with their own unique story.
September 2017
Photographs and short stories from September 2017 that didn't necessarily fit into larger narratives or posts.
Frames from Sunday September 10, 2017
The corner of 4th/Vine in Downtown Cincinnati and Scott/4th in Covington. Trying to chase some light on a Sunday evening and looking back into street photography while wandering on the bike. Felt like the only people around were either going to/at the riverfront park or disappointed, drunken Bengals fans wallowing about.
Last Day of Summer
A few quick photos made on the "Last Day of Summer" in 2017, wandering some tracks in my neighborhood after a run. Since these trains only seem to run and make copious amounts of noise in the middle of the night, you can get a pretty good look at their details and monikers in the early evening.
Solar Eclipse
The 2017 Solar Eclipse as experienced from the observation deck of Cincinnati's Carew Tower.

April 2017
Photographs from the month of April in the year 2017: Pittsburgh, soccer, parking garage views, good food (and randomly disposed of food), dogs, and the city.
The Circus Came and Went One Last Time
In January 2017 it was announced that the 146 year-old Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus would cease to exist. While a handful of dates were cancelled, Cincinnati would be one of the final touring stops. Evoking some childhood nostalgia, I went for the first time in 15 years. One last time.
The Extraordinary Story of the Cincinnati Comets
All that remains of the Comets' story is a small Wikipedia page, a few online factoids, and articles in newspaper archives. I think the team's story is one worth telling—one that should be remembered alongside the story of American soccer’s evolution, of Cincinnati’s departed NBA team, and of the city's missed chance at an NHL team.

From the Archives Part 2: Shelter From the Weather or Nuclear Fallout?
In Part 2 of the "From the Archives" series: some photos from 2008 of a shelter in the woods. Was it constructed as a means of escape from violent weather or nuclear war? If the bomb did drop, could it even survive?
Fading Advertisements: Obama on Liberty Street
After spending the past two years documenting fading advertisements, this one doesn't really follow the theme of all those I featured in the book. Nevertheless, in a way, it was an advertisement of support for the 44th President of the United Sates and for Ollie's Trolley, the business it stands behind on Liberty Street in Cincinnati's Over-The-Rhine neighborhood. Photographed on January 19th, 2017, I felt it was an interesting thing to document on the eve of President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration. One historical election to the next.

The Fall of Celebrity Themed Restaurants in Cincinnati
Willie's Sports Cafe in Covington was once an iconic sports bar named for and once partially owned by a local radio host. It's the latest in a long line of celebrity inspired restaurants in the area to close up shop.
Fading Advertisements: Wiedemann's Fine Bohemian-Style Beer + Wiedemann and Dreidame Inc.
A local brew making a comeback still has signs of its past around town.
Nope, here's a lesson on why you don't assume things.
