Fourth of July

At my place of employment, the Fourth of July is a busy day. In the five years I have worked there, I've never had that day off. This year was the first time. I worked half a day on Friday, July 3rd then went down to see the fireworks that would follow the Red's game as part of their "Fireworks Friday" promotion.

Unfortunately, the weekend would begin to take a turn for the worst as David Weathers gave up a grand slam, blowing the 3 - 0 Cincinnati lead and allowing the Cardinals to mount a comeback and win. I watched from the other side of the river while the sold out crowd at Great American Ballpark screamed in anger.

At least the fireworks were pretty spectacular...

Typically I feel it's pretty lame and Un-American to host fireworks on July 3rd like in Mason and Fairfield, however the Reds had an excuse as they have a fireworks show for nearly every Friday night home game.

It rained on the Fourth, but I got to go to the Reds game with some good friends. The weekend would end in bad ice cream, sad people, returning to work, a lack of fireworks being sold in Ohio and getting rear ended.
