Testing a (Phone) Camera

I’ve felt pretty confident in phone cameras for about a decade now. It depends on the situation (and really, the lighting), but especially in the last few years—smartphone cameras have come a long way. Granted, they’re not a full replacement for what I would consider “real” equipment, but they’ve long surpassed the “point and shoots” of old and I appreciate being able to always have a decent camera at hand. After recently switching to a new phone, I wanted test it out. So, Egypt and I went for a walk in Downtown Cincinnati along our favorite route: the one where you don’t pass any surface parking lots and get to pretend you’re in a bigger city for a little bit.
