Thirty Years Later and No Memorial to Those Who Died in The Who Concert Tragedy
It was exactly thirty years ago today that eleven concertgoers were trampled to death outside of what was then known as Riverfront Coliseum. As rock legends, The Who, began their sound check that evening, thousands of spectators crowded outside, pushed forward mistakenly thinking the concert was starting. Eventually arena officials opened the doors to the swarming crowd, the problem was they had hardly opened any doors at all.
Who is "The Cyclones Insider?"
Cincinnati has been home to numerous minor league hockey teams and even one major league team, but probably the best known, and currently the only pro hockey team in town, is the Cincinnati Cyclones. While the current Cyclones of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) are not the original franchise from 1990, this incarnation of the team recently won their leagues championship, the Kelly Cup, in 2008 and call the US Bank Arena downtown their home.
Atrium 2 Has a Helluva View
It was noon this past Sunday when my ringtone, the theme song to the tv sitcom "Roseanne," blared across the room as I rubbed my eyes and woke up to my morning, most other people's afternoon.
The Forgotten Rail Station at Torrence Rd.
The sun was slowly setting on a summer evening as we drove the #1 Corolla Rager eastbound on Riverside Dr. Jeffrey and I already had a close encounter with a snake earlier that day whilst exploring in Lockland and we weren't having much luck finding anything else that evening.
49 Floors, 49 Stories to Tell.
Hadn't been to the top of Cincinnati's tallest skyscraper since about a year ago. When I was a kid, the mid-1990's photographs of the previous riverfront, like this one, always stuck out in my mind. I just hope that the photographs I take today will have some relevance to someone in the future.
Zombies Attack Cincinnati!
Like something out of a horror movie, zombies swarmed the streets of downtown this past Halloween weekend.
Storm the shores of Cincinnati with Capt. Bill and the "Ride the Ducks" tour!
The "Duck" tours used these amphibious vehicles to transport sightseeing tourists on land and sea. For years they've been a common attraction in cities throughout the nation leaving many Cincinnatian's on vacation to say "Hey, why don't we have that in the Queen City?" Well, "Ride the Ducks" finally came here in the Spring of 2008.
All Along the Watchtower: The Crosley Climb
The first home of the "Nation's Station," 700 WLW, and the one time symbol of the Crosley corporation stands as a watchtower looking out over the industrious Camp Washington neighborhood and Interstate 75.
Gordon Bombay and the Auditorium of Doom!
Some time ago, Venkman and I registered to take "Intro to Photography" at the University of Cincinnati's main campus.

When you like exploring abandoned buildings, Detroit is your Disneyland.
From the Roof of an Abandoned Brewery, Summer Ends in a Blaze of Disappointing Explosions Above a Midwestern Skyline
The smoke began to clear over the river and was blowing north towards downtown engulfing the skyscrapers and skyline in a haze. "That was it?" I muttered to Venkman and Seicer. We had been waiting all summer since we had discovered our super secret fireworks viewing spot and all we had to say was: "That was it?”
Queen City Discovery Announces New Exhibit
Last January I teamed up with fellow explorer and photographer Sherman Cahal to create the "Forgotten Cincinnati" exhibit that was on display at Park+Vine. This Fall, friend and photographer Craig Moyer joins us to create "Exploring Cincinnati," an expanded exhibit that features even more photographs from our photographic work and exploring of the Cincinnati area over the past year.
Abandoned Overpass Vantage Points
The soles of my shoes are incredibly worn down. The rocks along the abandoned railroad tracks hurt as they further puncture the holes on the bottoms of my tennis shoes. Leaning up against the concrete wall while the camera exposed for 30 seconds I realized how tired I was for only sleeping four hours the previous night. Beneath the bridge cars fly by, people come and go. Time forgets the trains that once ran on these tracks and I ponder what I'm doing and why.

A Random Sliver of the American Summer in a Parking Lot
I don't know exactly why I like photographing the things I like to photograph, I just find certain things interesting or I want to say something.
Why Does Anyone Take Pictures?
My job has been stale. Every year at some point I feel burnt out, but it seems each year that feeling comes quicker. It also seems that my life is in some sort of weird repeating cycle. Every two years similar events happen with similar disappointments in similar settings despite the fact that I age. Some times the comparisons are uncanny, sometimes I think I generalize and attribute these similarities to overblown coincidence. What it comes down to is frustration and quick, often wrong rationalization.
Bush Stadium - Indianapolis, Indiana
From 1931 until 1996, Bush Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana served as the home of the Indianapolis Indians; a AAA minor league baseball team currently affiliated with Major League Baseball's Pittsburgh Pirates. The Art Deco stadium complete with it's ivy covered walls saw the Indians play as the farm team for not only the Pirates, but the Cleveland Indians, Milwaukee Brewers, Montreal Expos (Now the Washington Nationals), Chicago White Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Braves (Now the Atlanta Braves) and even the Cincinnati Reds.
