Son of Beast Trackwalkers
I walked up the steep, wooden steps and started to sweat. The coveralls were now more of a nuisance as the morning got warmer. Just shy of the 218 ft. peak, I knelt down and swung my camera bag off my back, trying not to look down or behind me. I had lost count of the number of steps some time ago. Heights have never really bothered me, but this climb did.

Hockey Night in Hamilton
Just north of Cincinnati in the city of Hamilton there used to be an old school ice rink. Open air with an aircraft hangar like roof, the facility embodied "old time hockey." Today it's a parking lot adjacent to a satellite campus of Miami University, but at one time the place made it to the silver screen - when Hollywood considered Cincinnati a "hockey town.”
[Views of Cincinnati] Carew Tower Observation Deck
The observation deck of the Carew Tower, the only one open to the public in Cincinnati, is vastly different than that of most major city tourist attractions. It served as the location for the five newest frames made in support of 224 Views of Cincinnati.
Milacron Ruins
Some not so good photos and a not too interesting story that came from the exploration of an abandoned, half demolished factory.
Five Year Anniversary
Yesterday on October 29, 2012, Queen City Discovery turned five years old. The first post was a test post about how I was quoted in a City Beat article, the second post that day was LeSourdsville Lake/Americana Revisited - photos and a story about touring the abandoned remains of the local amusement park. As of this writing, that article is the still the fourth most popular on QCD.

[Views of Cincinnati] Serial Killers and Scavenger Hunts

[Views of Cincinnati] A Series Named Southbank
In every city I go to, I feel the best way to truly see that city is to ride public transit. You see the real parts of that city, the people, the life on the streets. It's a better way to view an unfamiliar urban core and get a new perspective on a place you know well.
The Beach Waterpark: All Dried Up?
The "stone" depiction of a fanged beast would seem to be the remnants of a forgotten civilization, but protruding through the "ancient" statue is a different kind of ruin: one of modern society.
[Views of Cincinnati] #70 - 73
The four latest frames made in support of 224 Views of Cincinnati.
Another Timelapse and Changing Focus
Showed the last time lapse to some classmates during a critique and people seemed to like it. Working on a way to integrate them into the 224 Views of Cincinnati project. Maybe matte a tablet and play various time lapses on a loop? Definitely plan to shoot more of these.
"Sunrise" Timelapse
The skyline of Losantiville and a tree in Devou Park at dawn. Shot between 7:03 and 8:03 AM on 9/18/12.
Ran Into the Vice President After Work Today
Today was like any normal day at work, except for a random encounter with the Vice President on the way home.
