[Suburbia Lost] Industrial Office - Fairfield, Ohio
Not necessarily abandoned, but not really in use. Nevertheless, part of the suburban landscape along Industrial Dr. in Fairfield, Ohio. Check out our other photos in the ongoing Suburbia Lost series here.
As Seen From The Highway
When you drive by something everyday, sometimes you ditch the normal commute and go see what it is.
[Kings Waffle] Chapter 2: The Diplomat, The Wizard, The Ambassador & The Man at the End of The Counter
The guy who rose to become king of the "waffle kids," a real life cowboy, a song with a distinct purpose and the one you always save a seat for.
[Kings Waffle] Chapter 1: This is The Place
"You guys must come here a lot, no?" said the state trooper sitting at the low counter with us. "If this were a bar, we'd be drunks" I replied. He laughed before facing his palms to the sky and praying before his meal. It was a crude, unflattering answer, but probably the simplest way to describe how often we're here.
At the Waffle House.
"Kings" Waffle House to be specific.

Champion Paper Mill Implosion
This morning, an explosion echoed through the streets of Hamilton, Ohio as the smokestack of the former Champion Paper Mill came crumbling down.
[Suburbia Lost] Taz - Loveland
Right off the highway, a converted Italian fare chain last saw life as local Mediterranean cuisine.
Crosstown Knockdown 2014
The Cincinnati Rollergirls closed out their 2014 season with a win at the Cincinnati Gardens this past Saturday. Will it be one of the last events held there?
I-65 Pit Stop
The four story abandoned hotel has become a landmark off of I-65 in greater Lafayette, IN. Once the source of local pride, the deteriorating building has become an eyesore to the local community and an alluring pit stop for those passing by with exploration on the mind.
[Suburbia Lost] The Abandoned Shell Stations of West Chester
The northern Cincinnati suburb of West Chester has two abandoned gasoline stations. Even with the corporate logo removed, the architecture and branding are unmistakingly "Shell" brand.
The Blue Bridge Above the Highway
Above I-71, a bright blue railroad bridge spans the freeway canyon, but doesn't actually carry trains anymore. A remnant of an old rail line, the steel path can still be used as a shortcut over the highway if you know where to find it.

Remnants of a Rural Past
There was a house in Mason right off Kings Mills Rd, down the street from the amusement park and nestled off to the side from all the suburban development. It's gone now and long before it so were any occupants.
The Concourse: Part 3 - The Film
Over the past two days, both Cameron and I have shared out photographs and experiences of the now abandoned Concourse C at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). The above is a short film put together that offers another perspective on our visit.
The Concourse: Part 2 - Unaccompanied Minor
I spent many hours of my youth classified as an "unaccompanied minor." My father lived, and still lives, in New Mexico. Including connecting flights, I was racking up eight takeoffs and eight landings a year. Those are solid numbers when you’re eight years old.
The Concourse: Part 1 - Island in a Stream of Runways
Four runways criss-cross the grounds of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). Among them, in an island by itself, is the former "Concourse C." Once a gateway containing portals to destinations across the United States - it now sits quietly with luggage lining the hallways and benches stacked atop each other in closed shops and eateries. The lonely aerodrome is absent of both people and flights, both of which have relocated to the airport's main facilities.
With Snow and Ice, Cincinnati echoes Brooklyn
With the freezing rain and snow coming through this past Sunday, the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge connecting the cities of Cincinnati, OH and Covington, KY was closed due to ice accumulating on its surface. The lack of traffic allowed the rare opportunity to walk right down the middle of the road and see a unique perspective of the Queen City icon as it echoed the views of its Brooklyn brother.
