Throughout Indiana
Another year, another Memorial Day Weekend, another brief road trip throughout Indiana.
3 Points Urban Brewery
I'll admit, when I first got the invitation to attend a preview night of 3 Points Urban Brewery, I was skeptical.
Kings Island
I've taken so many thousands of pictures at Kings Island over the years.
As a guest: a kid armed with disposable cameras and 35mm rolls.
As an employee: using my first digital camera after shifts while enjoying rides with my friends and later using my cell phone's lens to document things I needed for my paperwork and reports.
It's been six years since I was last at the park, a story for a different time.
April 2018
A week late. Almost. But I've had the monthly post thing going for almost two years and I didn't want to let the streak die. Only one other post this month, but tons of stuff on a to-do list and a metric ton of drafts that I haven't had time to finish yet. Ran a 10K, though.
Dispatch from a Waffle House in London, Ohio
I woke up late this morning. I barely remember silencing the alarms on my phone except for the fact that I did it multiple times. I’m not sure if I forced myself to get up too early with not enough sleep or if I’m not sleeping well at all. I’m not really wanting to go to a doctor to find out. I should probably just go to bed earlier on a consistent basis. Nevertheless, I can usually wake up with no issues on days where I’m excited to do something other than go to work. Yet, here I was, scrambling to get out the door facing the usual time based anxieties, but a different destination.
March 2018
Photographs made in February 2018 that didn’t necessarily fit into a larger story and were posted three days late.
[Fading Advertisements] "The Other Place," From A Different View
"The Other Place" appeared in the book and can be seen if you walk the obscure College St. that runs from 6th to 7th between Race and Vine. I still haven't been able to figure out what the sign referenced, but while visiting the Terrace Plaza back in December, I got another look at the sign. It's one of my favorites in the city. Glad to see it's holding up so well.
The Terrace Plaza | Part 3 - The Future?
The Dennison Hotel building wasn’t anywhere near as grand or as historically significant as the Terrace Plaza. Nevertheless, it was a historic structure designed by a prominent person and located within a protected historic district.
The Terrace Plaza | Part 2 - The Present
With a passing glance, the Terrace Plaza’s front entrance seems like any other urban hotel. There’s still quite a few cars parked under the awning, as if valet service is catering to a busy check in. On this day, there were plenty of guests inside, but they weren’t of the lodging variety.
The Terrace Plaza | Part 1 - The Past
In the time I’ve been putting this website together/been a professional photographer, there have been a lot of places I wanted to see and document locally. With many of them, I eventually had the opportunity either through my own resources, invitations, or through organizations I’ve worked with. There was always one that seemed to escape me, though.
Goodbye to The Gardens
There was never a better place to watch hockey in Cincinnati. The Gardens was classic. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
An Urban Geyser in Pleasant Ridge
In the Cincinnati neighborhood of Pleasant Ridge, a dislodged fire hydrant lead to the appearance of an urban geyser.

The Flood of 2018 II
Following up the recent post that was shot on a rather bleak looking day, another look at this year's flood as the Ohio River peaked. Barring any more excessive rain, the forecast is calling for the water to recede. Guessing that the next flood shots you'll see inundated across social media, the local news, and even here, will be of mud covered streets and cleanup.
The Flood of 2018
There's no doubt that if you've been paying attention to the local news lately, you've seen how the Ohio River is rising, encroaching on the shores of Cincinnati.
President's Day
Enjoyed having President's Day off. Went for a run around the neighborhood and to the coffee shop. Shot some frames along the way.
UPCOMING EVENT: Discussing Cincinnati and its Bid to Host the 2012 Olympics
With the 2018 Winter Olympics underway in Pyeongchang, South Korea, the Independence branch of the Kenton County Public Library thought it'd be a good time to revisit a piece of little known local history: Cincinnati's bid to host the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
