Sarasota
The Crescent Club wasn’t the Salty Dog Cafe, Pirahna Pete’s Oyster Pub, the Sneaky Tiki* or any other t-shirt hawking/Jimmy Buffet fantasy restaurant that might be real or something I made up. The place looked more like a nautical themed bar from the 70s, designed for a nostalgic period piece. Except it wasn’t created for a movie, it just was.

Tijuana
“Oh, you don’t want to go there. It’s dirty and it’s not safe,” says the older gentleman after we tell him we’ll be visiting Tijuana for a day. He isn’t the only one who insisted that the ice cream shops, souvenir stands, and restaurants of San Diego's Old Town provided more than enough entertainment—that crossing the border wasn’t necessary. Yet, Tijuana is what we are looking forward to the most on this trip. It’ll be the first time I get to use my passport, the first time I’ll venture outside of the United States of America.

When I Die: Bury Me Behind Sad Sam's Fireworks Outlet and Market
A trip to Nashville with some stops along the road.

Hawaii 2
Today I learned: the television show “Hawaii Five-O” got its name because Hawaii was the fiftieth state admitted to the Union, NOT because “five-oh” was some sort of common radio code for police officers. After the show aired, the term “five-oh” became slang for cops.
Also: saw a coffee plantation, lava flows, a black sand beach, the small green rocks that make “green sand,” an orchid farm, a macadamia nut factory, waterfalls, botanical gardens, popsicles, views, and the diverse landscape of Hawaii.

Throughout Indiana
Another year, another Memorial Day Weekend, another brief road trip throughout Indiana.

Dispatch from a Waffle House in London, Ohio
I woke up late this morning. I barely remember silencing the alarms on my phone except for the fact that I did it multiple times. I’m not sure if I forced myself to get up too early with not enough sleep or if I’m not sleeping well at all. I’m not really wanting to go to a doctor to find out. I should probably just go to bed earlier on a consistent basis. Nevertheless, I can usually wake up with no issues on days where I’m excited to do something other than go to work. Yet, here I was, scrambling to get out the door facing the usual time based anxieties, but a different destination.

Death Valley, Red Rock Canyon, and Hoover Dam
We opted for Death Valley over visiting the Hoover Dam. I personally had no preference, content to explore whatever was on the agenda and experience a side of the country that I hadn’t seen before.

Las Vegas
I’ve mentioned it before, but it’s hard to try and photograph a place that so many others (professional and tourists alike) have been swarming over for decades. Nevertheless, this was a place new to me and I tried to capture it as uniquely as possible from my own perspective, as naive as that may sound.

Charleston, The Greenbrier Resort, and a Secret Cold War Bunker for Congress
The Greenbrier Resort once housed a government secret, one built towards the start of the Cold War, a place to continue the functions of our elected officials should an atomic exchange with the Soviets ever come to fruition.

From Cincinnati to Huntington, Indiana
My Father is an incredibly thoughtful person, always coming up with great ideas of places to go or things to see.

Michigan 2017
Photographs and stories made while traversing the Lower Peninsula of Michigan.

Postcards From Boston
I love Cincinnati dearly. I’ve been here all my life. I’ve helped support progress and have the utmost respect for those who also strive to see this city reach its true potential, whether it’s their lifelong or adopted home. I’ve been an advocate and preached the glory of the Queen City to all those who’ll listen, whether they be local naysayers, visitors, or people I meet while traveling. Every now and then though, I contemplate what it would be like to leave, go someplace else for awhile.

Concord, Massachusetts
Some quick photos from visiting Concord, MA for a few days and the modes of travel to get there.

Memorial Day Weekend: Southern Indiana
Photographs made while traveling across the Hoosier State.

To the City of Bridges and Back - Chapter 4: Wandering in Wheeling
The drive from Pittsburgh to Wheeling was rather uneventful, and traffic was light. I had no desire to go back and see the nonworking Perry Como statue, and the two museums I considered stopping at were already closed for the day, so straight into West Virginia it was.

To the City of Bridges and Back - Chapter 3: The Sun Finally Shines on The Steel City
I woke up, packed, and then said goodbye to my friends in the parking lot of a Holiday Inn Express on a bright Sunday morning.
