[Suburbia Lost] Burger King - Buckeye Lake, OH

Just off the interstate in the town of Buckeye Lake, Ohio, this abandoned Burger King sits near several active competitors: McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Taco Bell.

In an area that’s probably more alive during the summer as people flock to the lake with their boats, the King doesn’t seem to have reigned supreme, abandoning this fast food fortress well before it ever saw a modern remodel. It’s akin to the design at another abandoned one seen here earlier in the series. Local citizens don’t have to suffer from any flame broiled withdrawals though, there’s another one fifteen minutes up the road for when you want to “have it your way.”

Suburbia Lost is an ongoing documentation of decay in the sphere of a perceived paradise. After years of photographing abandoned, forgotten, and often historical locations in the city, this project aims to take a look at how structures fare in the sphere of suburbia.
