OTR Love Story
Andy had called me up the day before and told me his plan. In the heart of the historic city neighborhood, on the eve of the renovated Washington Park's opening, he would get down on one knee and propose to his girlfriend Janice.
Camp Ross Trails
It would seem like the perfect stand in for "Camp Crystal Lake" in a Friday the 13th sequel, and the Cold War nuclear scares that shut it down could make for the plot of a horror movie, but this abandoned Girl Scout camp is no more.

[Views of Cincinnati] #47 - 52
From the walls of the Freedom Center, to the reflections in the grid of 312 Elm, a gritty view from the west, fireworks over the river, abandoned streets and a tribute to the memory of Bob Saget - six new photographs in the "224 Views of Cincinnati" series.
[Views of Cincinnati] #46 Airlift
"There's no door on your side, is that gonna be ok?" Why wouldn't it be? I figured he meant there was only a door on one side of the aircraft and I'd be up against a solid wall, but as he checked our seat belts - I realized there was literally nothing between me and the atmosphere except for my camera.
[Views of Cincinnati] Ferris Wheel With No Riders, Newport Shore
The closest you'll probably ever get to seeing something resemble the Santa Monica Pier on the shores of Cincinnati.
Combat Stupendous Reunion Tour
Photographs from a road trip that somewhat reunited a high school band and took us from Cincinnati to ruins in Detroit to Lake Michigan and back.
Union Terminal: A Jewel in the Crown of the Queen City
It's one of the most prolific icons of Cincinnati, one of the finest examples of Art Deco in the world, a symbol of America's rise as a super power and one of the region's largest tourist attractions. From the steel superstructure, to the roof to the inner workings of its clock, check out Union Terminal like you've never seen it before. I recently had the privilege of joining a group of photographers touring the ins and outs of one of the city's greatest treasures, but it's a treasure we almost lost.
Suburban Stonehenge
Beyond the manicured lawns and the sounds of lawn mowers and birds chirping, is Blue Ash's Sharonville's suburban stone henge. It's a concrete canvas for those who wish to paint swastikas, penises, ying-yangs and their names even over the works of the few who actually knew how to wield a spray can.
[Views of Cincinnati] Soul to Squeeze Sunrise
I've loved the Red Hot Chili Peppers since I was a kid.
Whatever Happened to Circuit City?
I only got a half hour break and it was still my first week. So far I didn't mind the job. I was supposed to be selling cameras, but somehow ended up selling computers. The sales floor was stressful at times, especially for a 16 year old, but Best Buy paid better and was a lot more prestigious of a part time job than most other high school kids had at the time. All I wanted to do on that break was eat my McDonalds cheeseburger, but the guy next to me kept talking to me while he sipped on a Mountain Dew.
[Views of Cincinnati] Morning of Industry
There's no point in going to sleep, I'll have to be up soon enough anyways. I throw the camera in the car and go down the road to the UDF. I stop in to get a pack of smokes and some coffee.
Circle Freeway
A photo snapped yesterday at every mile marker along the 83 mile Interstate 275 that traverses Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana around the city of Cincinnati. A quick glance offers monotony, but if you look closely in each snapshot you can see the little details that set each individual mile apart.
[Views of Cincinnati] Night Flight
The Skyline below the wing of the Cesna 172S we were flying in as it executed a banked turn, blurring and twisting the view below. Great American Tower can be seen as the "lighthouse" figure in the center of the frame.
[Views of Cincinnati] The Fun of Watching Fireworks
A firework explodes over The Skyline after the Reds lose to the Montreal Expos Washington Nationals by four runs. Win or lose, "Fireworks Fridays" happen regardless.
[Views of Cincinnati] Desert Island Initials
My initials on a desert island the Kentucky shore facing The Skyline.
[Views of Cincinnati] Parking Lot Midway
A carnival in the parking lot of a "Save-A-Lot" in Bellevue, Kentucky. The skyline of Cincinnati is visible just to the right of the midway lights between the lot's light towers.
I like the idea of an ordinary, mundane parking lot becoming the midway for something bright and spectacular - even if you know what it all really is and how life goes on in all of its forms around you.
